It seems strange to me that this is an industrial area today. Ascending the royal hill, I experience the majesty of this location. The fertile plain stretches around and I can see the Pentadaktylos mountain range on one side and Troodos on the other. Standing here I realise for the first time how the regions are connected, I appreciate the geographical contiguity of the kingdoms, the importance of the acropolis’s elevated position, of the passage of the river, of the fertility of the land. I can understand for the first time how the communication between the regions was carried out visually. It is an experiential realisation that fascinates me.
