I arrive at dawn and the beauty of this protected beach, a place where turtles nest and hatch their eggs during the summer months, enthuses me. Behind me, towards the south, the peak that gave the Pentadaktylos mountain range its name is bathed in the pink colour of dawn, while in front of me Troulli rises up as a pyramidal cone, with a rock balancing at its top. As I walk along the beach the cone changes shapes and its rocks seem to spread out and resemble mythical creatures moving along in space.
